After watching St Trinian’s for the 1 millionth time the other day I decided to teach myself how to do a fishtail plait. A Fishtail plait is more unusual than a normal plait and only uses two chunks of hair- I think it gives a more trendy look to the traditional three braided plait.

I love all braids and plaits at the moment from plaited headbands to the herringbone plait, I can’t get enough. If you wan’t to add a more bohemian look to your plait why not try pulling a few strands out and back-combing it slightly to make it look a little more messy. Another trick to try is creating your own headband out of your own hair like Pixie Lott has done here, and embellishing it with a few flowers for an ethereal vibe.
