Jodie Dorling is first and foremost a Fashion and Textiles student of Greenwich based Ravensbourne College of Design and Commuincation. Along side this, her passion for fashion whilst being a student has lead to her latest hobby of customising clothes. It started with just a few of her her own items and the help of blogging website Tumblr for inspiration, but now the requests are pouring in for Jodie to revamp many of her friends old pieces too. Her once passionate hobby is well on the way to developing into a money making business.

It is no secret that being a student comes at a price, and not a small one at that with fees rising as of the next academic year. Belts might have to be tightened, overdrafts might be your new best friend and the ‘display bank balance’ button on the cash machine might be a long lost one. Once the rent, bills, food shop and other necessities are paid out, there’s not often much spare change left over for socialising. However, with the degree, does come the student lifestyle. After all, it would be naïve to think that all of our spare time is spent in the library with our heads in books.
